Talk on Journalism by Dr.Jay Mehta

  On 15th January 2019,we had guest lecture of Dr.Jay Mehta sir on Mass Media and communication. By this session we get basic knowledge about media ,and its development from the ancient time so it was very beneficial for us.  
What Is Mass Media ? 

 Mass Media means technology that is intended to reach a mass audience. it is primary means of communication used to reach the vast majority of general public. 
 Dr.Jay Mehata sir introduce  six major sources of Mass Media:- 
  1.   Newspaper
  2.   Television
  3.   Radio
  4.  Cinema
  5.   Advertisement
  6.   Digital Media.       
#newspaper: 

The Newspaper was the original platform for mass media.Before there was no internet,television or radio, the public relied only on newspapers to get current information or latest events. we also discus about PRESTITUTE ( A noun, referring to a person in power who " sell out " for some personal gain). so we can say that  sometimes power and politics played vital role and that's why Newspaper not played their role properly.

#television 

 Television plays vital role. The television is more effective platform to reach general public rather than radio.Earlier when TV starts that time only one channel 'Doordarshan' came.Nowadays so many channels we watch. television used for entertainment, information and education. 

#radio 

The radio play an essential role in communication. It used to spread news from one region to other. 'Aakashvani' channel is most popular in all over world. 

 #cinema 

  Cinema also plays vital role. It is known as Glamorous world.Which represents highly glamorous, we rarely find facts.Cinema  is very helpful for getting information. Nowadays cinema is one of the most favourite source of Mass media and communication. Cinema shown us entertainment as well as Social issues and current affairs.

 #advertisement

  Advertisements also an important part of Mass Media and communication. There is a field of Creativity. Advertisement is most influential medium to reach large number of people within few seconds. 

 #digital media 

  Digital Media is famous in Youth.But as all sources,in this source also we get fake information. And this is a negative side of this media source. 

 Jay Sir introduces us with many new words like The word " Presstitude " press + constitute.
Presstitude is a term that applies to journalism that is misleading tailored to fit a particular partisan , financial or business agenda. Sir also gave explanation on investigative journalist and sting operation.
so it was really fruitful lecture for us so thank you so much sir to spend your precious time with us and i would also like to say tanks  Dilip Barad sir who invite you.

Film Screening Of Sense and Sensibility

            Today we have movie screening of sense and sensibility this story written by Jane Austen and directed by Ang Lee in 1995. This is the story of  Dashwood sisters. in this story two main character who represent  the title " Sense and Sensibility"  Elinor and Marianne. Elinor was very practical girl and Marianne was very emotional and sensitive.Their father Henry Dashwood just died and than all power and property goes to his stepbrother hand and john not do anything for his stepmother and sisters. he was already wealthy because he  has fortune from his mother and he also married to wealthy fenny ferras in which fanny's brother, Edward comes to stay and he attracted towards Elinor. Marianne and her mother expect her choies but Elinor not sure because fanny dislike her. Here we see practical thinking of Elinor. T his task is given by Pro.
