Review of the film " Modern Times "

Yesterday at our department we have watched movie of the modern time ' Charlie Chaplin ' and film also direct, produced and acted by him ( Charlie Chaplin ). Charlie Chaplin is a funny comedy movie of modern time however this silent film presents a very serious socialist critique of modern times society. Chaplin portrayed a roll as factory worker. in this age people were like machine who work constantly, so he spies on his workers by CCTV camera. he scolds them when they smoke during their five minute break.

The boss of Chaplin in this film try a new machine enables a worker to eat while doing job because he does not want to give any time for relaxation but machine not work properly so his boss decides not to use it. Chaplin includes many scenes in which we see capitalist society of modern time. capitalist enterprise that has no concern for workers safety, welfare or happiness.

They both are struggle to find out job. chaplin keeps losing job and facing unemployment and prison while chaplin in a prison Ellen find a job at cafe but their temporary success ends when police come to arrest Ellen. here chaplin emphases that modern society makes life very hard for women.

At the endof film they both are walked on the road but they have some hope. During the whole film they face many problems but at the end we can see their positive attitude towards life they have hope to live in happy life. in this film we also see capitalist society of modern time, so this film helps a lot to understand the modern time and mentality of that time peoples and also we see politics of modern time.

Thanks to Barad sir to show us this movie. its really very helpful to understand situation of modern time.
